Visa

You need a tourist visa for working at the research site. To apply for a tourist visa, an applicant needs to send our staff his or her personal information at least 3 weeks before his or her arrival:

1. Full name

2. Date of birth

3. Passport number

4. Passport date of issue

5. Home address and telephone number

6. Work address and telephone number

The visa invitation is handled by an international tourist agency, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The invitation letter is normally ready within twenty-four hours and is then sent directly to the volunteer via fax or federal express. Using this visa invitation letter the volunteer needs to apply for his/her visa through the nearest Russian Embassy. There are four Russian Embassies in the USA, located in New York, NY; Washington D.C.; San Francisco, CA; and Seattle, WA.

Special notice for American volunteers:

If you would like the aid of an American travel agency, we highly recommend "Go to Russia! travel". Several volunteers have received their visas through them and were very pleased with their reasonable prices and efficient service:
